Have You Learned How to Live in Good and Bad Times...

Image
Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]. Philippians 4:11‭-‬13 AMP

6 Ways to Prepare for A Great Weekend!

Image
We are very close to the weekend!  Are you ready? Did you make plans?  Well, today is your day.  Start making your plans now so that you are ready, without an excuse, to have a GREAT time! 1.  Take a few minutes and write down your plans for the weekend.  Just as you begin taking care of your housework and chores, take a minute to write your plans, it will help you to stick to them.  Take another few minutes and write down what you may need for next week.  Take an hour or a 1/2 hour each day and get a jump on the things that you have to do.  You will sleep a little better with this 1st step of accomplishment. Proverbs 24:27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house. 2. Plan for church.  Start looking for what to wear.  What form of transportation will you use to get there?  Do you have your checkbook for your tithes? Have you decided what to eat after church?  Acts 14:27 And when they were come, and had gath

Look in the Mirror!

Image
Tip of the Day! Sometimes a person gets depressed to the point that they refuse to look in the mirror.  For whatever reason, they may have, the idea of looking in a mirror repulses them.  This is one of the many signs to pay attention to with ourselves and/or our loved ones, just like sadness that has lingered for more than 2 - 3 days or failure to bathe oneself. Did you know that we are the mirrored image of God?  The issue that we face is that the mirror is dirty on our side because of our sin, flesh and emotions.  We sometimes work to clean the mirror.  We exhaust ourselves in an attempt to make the image better.  We struggle to create an image that we can be pleased with.  What is really important is that we recognize that our image is dirty to start with and it's through our daily presentation of our lives and our obedience to God, that God can perform the necessary cleaning.  We can decide to allow God to clean us, but we really don't have the ability to do the cle

Stop Letting Things Get in the Way!

Tip of the Day! Philippians 4:4-9 4  Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Don't Fail the Test!

Your problem IS the lesson! Take a step back and look at your problem again. 1. What went wrong? How and when did this problem begin?  Do you remember how you felt at that time? Were there any warnings?  What happened? 2. What is your part in all of it? What is your part in all of this?  What did you do or what didn't you do?  What did you tolerate?  What did you cooperate with? 3. What should you do differently next time? How else could you have handled this issue?  What should you have done that you can do better the next time, if there's a next time? How did you do this time that you should not have done? 4. How do you avoid this problem from now on? If it's possible to avoid this problem, what must you do to avoid it from now on?  How do you separate yourself from this issue? 5. What did you learn? What's the lesson from all of this?  What did you learn that you didn't understand before?   God has given you grace to see, experience and m

From Me...

From my heart to yours... We are in the middle of the month of July and I've already been on too many roller coaster rides.  Roller coasters are fun because we are prepared for the dips, twists and turns.  We get excited and we look forward to them.  In life, however, we like a steady stream that is conditioned to go in one direction with the same amount of light pressure all of the time.  We all know that we want the stream but most of the time we experience the roller coaster. I must admit that I wasn't prepared, with all of the signs and warnings, I simply wasn't ready because I didn't want to be ready.  Who wants troubles to come?  Well, while I avoided all of the signs, my life became one train wreck after another...all.month.long, (at least the all of the 1st half of this month). I kept thinking to myself, "how do I encourage other people to fight depression while I'm struggling not to fall into one myself?".  My problems and my thoughts

It's hard to talk or write today.  I woke up to bad news and went to sleep to bad news (both nationally and personally) 2 days in a row.  Pray for America.  Pray for all of us.  Pray for me. I know we'll get through it and I comfort myself with this confidence, I just feel so hurt right now.

7 Steps to a Successful Week

Image
I pray that your weekend was wonderful. I also pray that this week will be a blessing to you. It can be hard jumping back into your everyday activities so take it easy. Here are 7 Steps to A Successful Week. 1. Pray to God about all that you need to do, big and small, and ask Him to help you to accomplish all that you need to do. 2. List what you need to accomplish this week. 3. Break down any large projects into small goals so that it doesn't overwhelm you. 4. Schedule some down time to relax. Relaxing will give your brain a chance to rejuvenate and allow creativity to flow. 5. Get your list completed! Celebrate your accomplishments. 6. Tell someone how this is working for you. Encourage someone. Hug someone. Call an old friend and catch up. 7. Thank God for all that you were able to do. Thank Him for getting you through the week and getting through each of these steps. Psalm 37:5
