Look in the Mirror!

Tip of the Day!

Sometimes a person gets depressed to the point that they refuse to look in the mirror.  For whatever reason, they may have, the idea of looking in a mirror repulses them.  This is one of the many signs to pay attention to with ourselves and/or our loved ones, just like sadness that has lingered for more than 2 - 3 days or failure to bathe oneself.

Did you know that we are the mirrored image of God?  The issue that we face is that the mirror is dirty on our side because of our sin, flesh and emotions.  We sometimes work to clean the mirror.  We exhaust ourselves in an attempt to make the image better.  We struggle to create an image that we can be pleased with.  What is really important is that we recognize that our image is dirty to start with and it's through our daily presentation of our lives and our obedience to God, that God can perform the necessary cleaning.  We can decide to allow God to clean us, but we really don't have the ability to do the cleaning.

To reflect His image is to please God and it helps us in our daily lives.  We want a clean image of ourselves in a mirror and God wants the same as He looks at us.  It's one of the reasons that we desire better for ourselves.  It's the reason that we are at our absolute best while in His presence.  It's the reason that we call on God when there isn't anyone else to turn to.  He created you in His image.  You are at your best when you reflect that image.  You are best when you are walking, talking, acting and thinking like The Father!

Don't be afraid to look in the mirror!  God created you in His image.  If you don't like what you see, go to God about it.  Talk with Him, listen to Him, tell Him what you see and what you desire to see.  Hear what He wants to see.  He's loving you, looking at you and He's waiting for you right now.  There's so many good things that He wants for you.  He just wants to clean you up for all that He's prepared for you.

Colossions 1:15, 16
Who is the inage of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.
