6 Ways To Get Rid of Depression Over the Holiday Weekend!

Image
1. Pray .  Start your weekend, end your weekend and all throughout the weekend keeping an open conversation with God the Father.  Ask God to keep you this weekend.  Ask Him to protect you and lead you so that you make the right decisions, go places and do things that will honor Him and keep your mind in peace.  1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. Psalm 10:17 Lord, thou has heard the desire of the humble:  thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: 2. Spend time with God each day .  Each day schedule an amount of time for just you and God.  It's probably best in the morning, but make the time.  Put it in your schedule on your phone or in your computer.  Find a quiet place-in your room, the bathroom, your car, etc., and sit with God.  You can pray, meditate on a scripture, listen to your favorite gospel song or hymn and just relax in His Presence.  Psalm 17:1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

Here's a throwback for your Thursday from our Facebook Page! Depression No More November 6, 2014 · Good Morning! It's raining here in New York. We are all experiencing showers of blessings (whether we acknowledge them or not). Some of us are going through storms, some have just come out of a storm, some are going into one. I pray that whatever state you are in, thank Jesus for being the captain of the storm. Thank Him for bringing, carrying, guiding and leading you through it. Allow Him to show you the way. Rejoice before, through and after it. ... Pray before, through and after it. Give thanks before, through and after it. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

8 Reasons People Don't Admit that They're Depressed...

Reasons We Don’t Address Depression!      • Christians don’t get depressed. This is a terrible misconception within the church.  Christians do get depressed when there is a breakdown in communication with God.  When we fail to pray and/or fail to trust God with our issues, depression will make every attempt to creep in. • People look at me funny.   We have the tendency to really care about how others view us.  We care what others say and do and consistently look for their approval of us.  This is a trap.  How does God view you?-That should be our greatest concern and in a very close 2nd place, How do you feel about you?  Leave people to their own thoughts that you have no control or power over. • People pretend to care.   Rejection hurts to the core, especially when we're depressed.  It hurts badly when someone pretends to care only for their own selfish wants or gain.  We must steer clear of those who are not interested in our best interests.  Pray about your relationships

Tip of the Day!

It's God's desire that you are successful and that you PROSPER! 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest  prosper  and be in health, even as thy soul  prosper eth.

Tip of the Day!

Depression will NEVER separate you from the love of God! Romans 8:35-39 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? 36 (Even the Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.") 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Ty

Are you ready for the Weekend?

It's Friday! Hopefully, if you aren't me, this is the last work day of the week for you.  Time to do what you haven't done all week.  Rest, clean up, shop, relax.  Write down what you need to accomplish this weekend.  Allow time to decompress in a way that relaxes you.  Spend time with God, telling Him about your concerns and listening for His directions.  Go to church and fellowship, release through your worship. My prayer is that you find a time of refreshing this weekend that will help you to glide comfortably into next week.  I pray that everything that was meant to hurt and destroy you is broken and now a thing of the past in Jesus' Name. You will have peace. Amen.

Have a Great Evening!

Good Morning,  This is a #tbt post from our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/NoMoDepression  Depression No More shared The Official Rev. Dr. Jacqueline McCullough's post. December 31, 2014 · .. The Official Rev. Dr. Jacqueline McCullough December 31, 2014 · Depression is anger mixed with hopelessness - we are angry about how our lives are and we get hopeless when we think that our circumstances will never change.  Choose to trust the king of hope - Jesus Christ! - Pastor Jackie McCullough ‪#‎AGlobalTeachingGeneration‬

Tip of the Day!

PRAY! "In Thessalonians 5:17, we are reminded to "Pray without ceasing".  As you are walking to a coworker's office, holding on the phone, waiting for a meeting to start, or doing a simple task, lift you company and coworkers up to the LORD." Daily Wisdom for the Workplace by Pamela McQuade. Whether you are at work, at home, at school, church, a relatives house, or wherever, we must remember to pray.  Depression creeps in when we lose our line of communication with God.  It is vital to keep that relationship in its proper place, 1st and foremost.  It is very important that we talk with God and listen to Him too.  God bless you.

5 People in the Bible who Suffered from Depression

1.  Elijah was depressed when Jezebel ordered for all prophets to be killed. 2.  Naomi was depressed after the death of her husband and children to the point of changing her name to Mara, meaning bitter. 3.  David was depressed during the sickness of his first child with Bathsheba. 4.  Mordecai was depressed when he learned of Haman’s plot to kill the Jews. 5.  Nehemiah was depressed upon learning that the returned exiles didn’t have a wall of protection at Jerusalem. 6.  Peter was depressed after he denied Jesus. And you thought that you were alone.  Read how they overcame.  Remember all of the great things that they are known for.  We are all more than conquerors!  God has given you the power to beat depression.

What's on your mind?

Tip of the Day!

The power of 'decision-making' is in your hands! God gives us the ability to make a choice.  This month while reading the book of Proverbs, it could be seen that chapters are dedicated to explaining the outcomes of a persons decisions.  Yes, things will happen, problems will occur, troubles will get in the way, but we have a CHOICE. We choose: To have faith -believing God for all things To trust God - trusting that God will carry you through the situation To be happy - instead of feeling down To stand - in the midst of the storm To have hope - knowing God Always remember, you have a choice!

Monday Relief!
