Not Ordinary!

Image
I'm so thankful to serve a God Who Is not ORDINARY!  I'll admit that when I decide not to sit in a depressed state and instead choose to spend time with God, listen and allow myself to feel His love for me, I experience the AMAZING! I'll admit it, it took a long time to get here.  I had to learn to say "NO" to depression.  I'm still learning to say no.  I'm still learning to choose God over my feelings, choose God over rejection and neglect.  I have found that there is nothing better and best of all nothing ORDINARY about how He saves the day. God has the ability to take the most horrible situations work for my good.  He opens up doors that would otherwise be shut.  He makes a way when everyone says, "no way"! God is not ORDINARY!  He's ExtraOrdinary!  He's Amazing!  He's Powerful, Awesome, Magnificent, Wonderful, Strong, Mighty and Loving! I'm so glad that my God is not ORDINARY!  via  Daily Prompt: Ordinary

What Are You Recording?

Image
What are you recording in your mind?  What records do you keep stored in your mind?  Do you record times that make you happy or that make you sad? Do you store words or encouragement or degradation? You may record all, a little or a lot of it, but let's see what God says...think about what's true, honest, fair, pure, lovely and of a good report.  We have to work on what we record and store in our minds.  Don't allow terrible things to replay over and over again.  They happen to all of us, but we can control what we hold on to and continue to think about. The Bible goes on to tell us that if we think about God, Himself, he will keep us in perfect peace.  That doesn't mean that life will feel wonderful all of the time.  That means that we will be able to go through the hard times without falling down. Clean the slate and start recording things differently in your mind.  Begin today, begin now.  Record all of the wonderful things that God says about you.  He loves y

Don't Get Stuck!

Image
Don’t get stuck in depression, anger, frustration.  Its a terrible pattern that we keep bringing ourselves to. We think about the problem, every time. Its time to create a new pattern!   Here’s how we can pull it together! Stop and focus on God! Start to think about how Great He is. Think about all that He has done. Read your favorite bible story or scripture.  Somethings going to happen for you. He’s going to give you PEACE.

YOU!

You were created to influence the area around you. You don’t feel like that. You may not believe it. You have too many problems. Maybe you can’t influence yourself.  I have to be honest. Your thoughts are wrong and they’re lies. I’m not being harsh. I’m being honest. God has given you gifts because He gives gifts to all. These gifts are to be used for his glory. Even if it’s our sad story.  The start times in my life have been my greatest testimonies of victory. People look and say, “you made it through that”, or “you don’t look life that happened”. Believe this, your gift needs to be in operation.  Live your greatest life now but activating your gift for God!

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread...

From:   Grow-A-Minute-A-Day Good Morning, I woke up in prayer and study of the Word of God with my wonderful husband, Justin Smith . I encourage you to pray and read the Bible with your family, if you can. If you can't, then do it alone until they join you. The scripture that I want to encourage you with today is: Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread. Jesus instructs us to pray to God for provision. Do we ask God to feed us, provide for us, clothe us, fulfill our needs? It's more than food. More often than not, we need God's Word, God's guidance and leading, which is bread enough. The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:7-12, to ask and we shall receive. Are you sick? Are you struggling financially? Do you need more of God in your life? Do you need food in your house? Ask God for what you need? Better, ask God to provide for you what you need according to His Will? He's the parent that knows what's best

Recognize the Tactics Being Used Against You!

Image
When  situations  arise in your life stop for a moment and ask yourself, "is this an attack?" Nothing is an accident. Everything works out for our good, right? Then what is happening right now? What just happened? Have you been in the Word? Have you been walking and talking with God? Have you been doing your best to be obedient?  Remember that the devil is your  enemy . An enemy constantly devises plans to attack you. Oftentimes, we fail to recognize what a real enemy is. Think of it as an opponent. An opponent does everything in their power to defeat you. So does an enemy. So back to you. You've been doing your best, but for some reason everything is going wrong in your life.  Is this an attack?  It very well could be. The devil watches you, he's always watched you and will continue to do so. He throws obstacles your way strategically. When you think you're doing good, problem. When your world feels upside down, problem. When someone close is sick, problem.

Why Is it So Bad?

Image
God bless you today... I've often wondered about the things that have gone on in my life.  There are many reasons for the things that we suffer and no one is exempt from suffering.  As a Christian I wonder more about why I haven't successfully dealt with my circumstances. To narrow it down, for the most part it, it is our FOCUS.  We ask, "why is it so bad?", when we should ask, "What are we focusing on when things are at their worst?"  Our human nature is conditioned to looking at our circumstances instead of looking at God.  When we take our eyes off of God, we become like Peter when he walked on water, we become fearful and begin to drown. (Matthew 14:24-34).  Yes, we drown figuratively, the problem begins to rise over our heads and it completely consumes us.  How do we stop the drowning?  How do we come up for air?  How do we stop feeling the pulling sensation that causes us to feel death all around us?  Better, how do we make it to dry land?

Get Happy About Hope!

I shared this today in my group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/growaminuteadaywithgod/ Good Morning, The scripture today (Romans 12:12) is blowing my mind! Rejoice (be happy, get excited) in hope. We must learn that hope is something to be happy about. I had the opportunity to walk around my neighborhood this week and I found so much to pray about. More than enough people look hopeless. I've felt hopeless during certain times in my life, it's a feeling that I don't like. I t's debilitating. The definition of hope is to expect with confidence. What a blessing it is to have hope! The Bible tells us... In Hebrews 3:14...For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast until the end. - - We are able to enjoy all that Christ has for us if we continue to hope in Him. And again in Hebrews 10:35...Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. - - Don't throw away your hope in God! It

Laughing in the Dark!

Good Evening and Good night!  How sweet it is to know that God keeps us even in life’s darkest moments! He provides pleasure for ever! Even during the hardest times we can find peace, love and joy if we rely on God. Think about the repast after a funeral… rarely do you see people still crying. Or, a time when everything was going wrong and you see or hear something funny. When we put God 1st, He shows us s the path to life. When we stay in His presence, He gives us joy. Be encouraged.  I will bless the Lord , who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.  I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Lonely Times...

There are times when we must be alone. Jesus knows how this feels. He experienced being placed into a wilderness experience. He experienced wanting to the point of hunger. He experienced temptation. This experience enables Jesus to relate to us. To understand loneliness, want, hunger, temptation and a host of other feelings that we are familiar with.  We have a Savior and Redeemer who can relate to us. Talk with Him about your feelings today.  And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a
