Mistreated!

Good Morning! Have you ever been mistreated,  mishandled, abused or simply misunderstood? David goes before God in this 35th Psalm. Read about it and be encouraged that God hears EVERY prayer. #summerpsalms Plead my cause, O Lord , with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destru

God is Able!

This chapter reads like some of the most powerful prayers we've heard. It starts with praise in verses 1-3. It then discusses the problem or issues in verses 4-19. Now in Psalm 18:20 - 29, we acknowledge God's power. When have you seen the power of God in your life?

Don't Mess With a Child of God!

We’re still reading Psalm 18! When you look back over your life, how has God answered some of your most urgent prayers? Read David’s account in verses 4 – 19.

Saved From the Hands of the Enemy!

Saved From the Hands of the Enemy! Have you made it through a terrible time in your life? Today and tomorrow we’re reading the 18th Psalm. Let’s start with verses 1-3, what would be YOUR song of praise? # summerpsalms

No Matter What!

David loved God! Have you ever been hurt by something and through your hurt still managed to maintain a relationship with your loved one and cater to their heart. David's problems teach us that NO MATTER WHAT , go back TO GOD! Give God glory even in the BAD situation, even in the WORST situation, even in the face of your enemies - GIVE GOD THE GLORY!   A few weeks ago we read the 3rd Psalm (Sat, 7/8). It was David's cry to God while he was on the run from his son Absalom. What I find amazing about David is that in this time of distress he took care of God's business to the point where he wrote the 4th and 5th Psalms and picked the instruments that they were to be played to.The 4th Psalm for a stringed instrument starts as a prayer and then words to his enemies to compel them to serve God and show them the error of their ways and he finishes with a praise. The 5th Psalm (for a flute) reads in the same manner.   Read the 4th and 5th Psalm. Share it with someon

My Prayer...

Yes, you pray. Yes, you read your bible. Yet, there are things that you are dealing with. Problems from your past, people against you, bills are enormous, etc., etc. David is now a mature king when he writes this Psalm. The king having a family, riches, a nation at his command, felt the need to pray this prayer. In distress, David knew that only God can help. Is this 25th Psalm your prayer??? Unto thee, O Lord , do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Shew me thy ways, O Lord ; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord , thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O

There's Better!

Are you mourning over something God has asked you to leave behind-a failed relationship, a financial loss, or a work-related change?  Trust in God that what He asks you to leave, He will replace with something infinitely better. -Pamela McQuade 2006 by Barbour Publishing, Inc.  Daily Wisdom for the WorkPlace

Trust God!

O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: Psalms 7:1 KJV http://bible.com/1/psa.7.1.KJV This is the 1st verse to the 7th Psalm. David is approaching God because He has been falsely accused. Has anyone ever lied on you? Have you ever been in trouble because of someone's lies? David still put his trust in Godand that is what Psalm 7 teaches us. Trust GOD!

Praise Report!

So my car was hit yesterday. It was a hit and run by a driving school student. Fortunately someone took a picture of the license plate and a neighbor sent it to me.  The good part...I didn't lose it. I've been known to have a short fiery temper. To God be the glory, I kept it together. I trust that God will work it out for my God (Romans 8 v.28). When problems come our way (and yes, they will come), our part of the battle is to trust God! He makes a way of we believe that He will. Yes, it will feel like a blow sometimes, but refocus. Remember that He's taken care of you before and Jesus died so that He'll do it again and again.   Have a great day!

How Are You Today?

Image
It's Saturday. Most people have completed their work week.  How did that go?  I struggled to stay awake this week. I realized that I stopped taking my vitamins in June while I was preparing for my daughter's graduation. My energy has been really low no matter what I do. I started my routine back on Thursday, so I pray that they take effect soon. Today, I woke up in prayer. I thank God for that! Usually when I jump up into the day without prayer everything gets jumbled, stressful and confusing. I'm mentally listing what I need to accomplish today. I have a lot to do. This being one of them. I needed to post this morning. Without knowing what to post about, I'm posting my morning. I pray that this blesses someone. I now realize I must write my to-do list.  It's a bit long.  What are you going to do today?  I don't want to become overwhelmed by my list of things to do, so I'm committing my list to God in prayer. I'm already praying for the strength t

My Letter to God...Here's My Heart...

Image
Dear God, Today I am in a good place, for the most part.  I woke up on time, made it to work on time.  I spent time reading Your Word.  I posted on my blog and my Facebook group.  I prayed a little but You know I have a lot more praying to do.  Yesterday, I saw my Grandparents, thank You so much for that.  I spent quality time with my husband, thank You so much for that!  I was able to spend some time with each of my adult children and my nephew to speak into their lives and love on them, I truly thank You for that. However, there are somethings that sit in the back of my mind.  I am so grateful that I can be completely honest with you and share these things.   I am concerned about my parents and grandparents.  Their overall health sits in my mind.  I've asked You to heal them and I'll ask it again.  Please heal them in their body, mind and soul. I am concerned about the unity of my family.  I confess that I had given up trying.  I don't know how to begin again and i

Save Me!

Image
Good Morning! Today we're reading the 6th Psalm. Have you ever been in a mess? This psalm encourages is to go to God, even at our lowest point. Talk to Him until you can follow David's lead and encourage yourself. By the end of the Psalm, just like after a good prayer, feel better knowing that God has heard your prayer! Look for yourself... O Lord , don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage. Have compassion on me, Lord , for I am weak. Heal me, Lord , for my bones are in agony. I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord , until you restore me? Return, O Lord , and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love. For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave? I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. Go away, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will a

Psalm 11

Image
The 11th Psalm - Friday's reading... How many times have people said to you..."That's too much", or "you better do such and such", or the famous, "believe me, you should do..."? In the 11th Psalm, we read David's response to his,  'friends', so to speak, who are trying to get him to run from Saul the king. David reminds them that God takes care of those that follow Him. I love the way that Justin put it..."Stand your ground". Thanks Charleen for reminding us that God continues to watch us and will do away with those who are wicked. Stand up for the faith that you have in God. Don't let, even those closest to you doubt God even for a second!

...and You Thought that You Were Alone!

Depression didn’t start in the 20th or 21st centuries.  Many people over the course of this life have overcome severe depression.  You can too! Here’s a short list of people in the Bible who suffered from depression.  Each of them conquered their depression without even having a diagnosis for it.  Their lives give us the hope that we need to deal with depression today. You can live a life  FREE  from depression!

Psalm 1

Image
The beauty of the 1st Psalm is that it is the introduction to the book and sums up the entire book of Psalms. The Word of God presents us with the truth, we have a choice to live for God or live for the world. The consequences are worlds apart..follow God and live a good life (even with evil all around you), follow the world and its master, the devil, and live a miserable life (plus the evil that comes with it). I'd prefer to live for God and have the strength to endure whatever comes my way! Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the

Psalm 43

Image
Have you ever needed... Help? To be rescued? Guidance? The Psalmist and Author of the 43 Psalm felt alone. I mean really ALONE! The Psalmist prays to be brought into the Presence of God to worship, be thankful and offer praise. We oftentimes know where and how to find peace and comfort and here the Psalmist is honest with themselves and asks God for that place. If we could be honest enough to ask God for HIs Presence, imagine how it would help us! My favorite part is when the author speaks to himself. 1st to his soul, soul, why are you so depressed? 2nd to his eyes and heart, look and hope in God. 3rd to his life, I WILL PRAISE GOD, He is MY GOD! I pray that this 43rd Psalm bless you today!

Press the Button!

In my dream last night, a particular scene stood out to me.  In the scene, I was in the backseat of my car (I can't recall the last time I've been in my backseat).  A woman was in the front passenger seat and the car's air conditioning was not pushing out cool air.  I looked up and noticed that the knob was turned for air to come out, but immediately noticed that the button wasn't pushed to indicate that "cool" air was needed.  I spoke to the woman (she was unfamiliar to me), and advised her to push the button.  Her response was, "but it's on", (indicating that she had already turned on the AC).  I yelled again, " press the button ".  I then explained, "the AC works when you press the button", "you have to see the light come on". This morning as I was getting ready for work, this part of the dream plagued me.  I began to pray about the dream and I tried to remember other parts of the dream.  I wasn't able to re

I Want NOTHING More Than God Alone!

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July! Today's Psalm is the highest degree of the 3 Psalms before it. Its the 4th degree. You can read Psalm 120 - 123 for the full content if you'd like. The author appears to be unknown and add-ons suggest that this was written after David. The prayer is strong and desperate. The writer compares looking for God like a servant who keeps their eyes on their master. Never looking elsewhere. The writer then asks for God's mercy.  Mercy for being filled with feelings unlike God or that disappoint God. Does it upset us when we think our do things that God doesn't want us to do? Are our eyes on God? The writer is at a point where they want NOTHING more than God ALONE! Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.  Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.  Have me

Bad Things Will Happen...

Good Morning!  This morning as I was driving I noticed that everything was peaceful and the earth seemed still. I enjoyed this peace with a praise. As I was thanking God everything felt so good and really right.  I continued driving and I began noticing a lot of roadkill. I mean enough roadkill for a 20 minute drive! I was grossed out about it. I almost complained until the Holy Spirit dealt with my heart.  You see even on our best days, terrible things sometimes happen. The other day, even in the middle of a tragic event, I found a reason too thank God.  While I was thanking God, I also had to pray about the horrible situation that had taken place. We don't like it when things aren't completely good, but it's a part of the life that we live.  When you are having a great time and things are going well, ENJOY it. The devil will try to throw a monkey wrench into things. He will cause problems to arise. Don't let go of the peace that God gives you. Keep looking to
