Yes, You Can Bear It!

Image
1 Corinthians 10:13 Yes, You Can Bear It!   To read the entire context of this scripture, go back and read  verses 1-18 .  The scripture begins talking about people who became “caught up”, so to speak, in their situations. Our Attitudes and Opinions No matter what happens in our lives and we form an opinion and attitude towards the circumstance.  It can be minor or major.  We either like it or dislike it.  Either way, it is our attitudes and our actions that produce the outcome of every situation that we encounter. DON’T STOP READING! I know that that last sentence may have caught you off guard, it’s okay.  Keep reading, I’ll make it clearer as we go on.  You see, just like in the first 11 verses of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 10, the actions of the Israelites placed them in a worse position than they started in.  There are times when we say and do things that place us in in terrible positions and when we look back ...

When Will I Move This Mountain?

Image
"When will I move this mountain?" Matt. 17:19-21 We move mountains when we believe. Some of us are wondering, "when?" I know I do. In this scripture, Jesus used the example of the mustard seed because it takes a small amount of faith to accomplish lots. It not how much strength, it's how much do you BELIEVE. Fasting and Prayer... When we fast and pray it is then that we take our eyes off of the problem and place the problem into God's hands. With the problem out of our hands and off of our shoulders we are free and strengthened to move the mountain.  You must believe God to move your mountain. Matthew 17:19-20 (NLT) 19 Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?” 20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible....

Tricks Are For Kids!

Image
"When I was a child"... hopefully you acted, thought and played like a child. We're adults now and its time that we act accordingly. The scripture instructs us to be strong. When we feel weak, be strong. When life beats us down, be strong. Be strong in the Lord. S M XL L We are told to put on the whole armor of God. Armor is protective gear that is worn in battle. Armor is heavy. We must wear God's armor to stand up against evil, problems, horrible situations, circumstances and the wiles of the devil. In the middle of the battle we sometimes fight the wrong fight and find ourselves exhausted and beat up. I couldn't imagine putting on armor and going to the wrong battle. I've never been a soldier but I've seen what's worn to battle and I wouldn't want to carry anything any further than I needed to, especially going to a battle. Again, we're not children anymore. Paul teaches that we don't fight against flesh and blood (pe...

Faith & Patience

Image
We look everywhere for a quick schemes.  Get-rich quick, lose weight quick, learn quick, etc.  We are living in a "microwave" age where we want everything Quick.Fast. and in a Hurry. We live in a "microwave" age. In the book of James, the 1st chapter, it's a lot different.  Here we are told that we are going to experience troubles.  We are told to have joy while we experience these problems because it is a testing of our faith.  Trust is believing and knowing without a shadow of doubt that God will come through.  Faith requires patience.  Patience means wait a while.  The while doesn't have a timer, it can be fast or slow, but waiting definitely comes with the territory.  It's important while we faithfully wait to believe and stay focused on the goal. S M L XL   We absolutely can not be double minded. We must have faith and be patient when we ask anything of God. For example, to ask God for a house, you have to ...

The Veil is Removed!

Image
Grace and Peace!    I thank God for removing the veil from my life!  We don’t have to worry about God’s glory fading away from us, we have the ability to communicate with God our Father and the Holy Spirit helps us to understand Him. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or how bad it has gotten, you can now live free.  You can give God all of your problems and ask Him to show you the way out of them.  It’s then up to you to get some sleep or some rest while you wait on His answer.  Once you receive the answer you can then run and get it done, but you don’t have to worry. God’s Glory won’t fade like it did in Moses’ day.  If you stay connected, He will stay right there and give you peace in the middle of that problem.  He will bless you if you believe Him for the blessing! He wants to to bless you and that is why He removed the veil! Trust Him for your happiness today! 2 Corinthians 3:7-18: 7 The old way,[a...

Move When You Hear Him!

Image
In Luke 7:3 and 4 we read how the Centurion heard about Jesus and immediately believed in HIM and sent for Him. How amazing would it be if we moved the moment we heard Jesus?  Where would we be in life if we moved when He spoke? Would we still call that person our friend, even though the relationship has been over for so long?  Would we still be at that job where there isn't a chance of growing?  Would we still live in that town where we feel stagnant and no longer at home? We should move quickly when we hear about God. We should believe HIM and look for Him! That's our lesson here, get moving and look for God in your situation.  God has already spoken to you.  Stop sitting still and go out to Him.    S M XL L   Your faith is what will carry you. God looks at our faith in HIM. Do you believe that God will save you, heal you, bring you out of that situation? It's a new year. It's time to move quickly when we hear...

God is Able!

This chapter reads like some of the most powerful prayers we've heard. It starts with praise in verses 1-3. It then discusses the problem or issues in verses 4-19. Now in Psalm 18:20 - 29, we acknowledge God's power. When have you seen the power of God in your life?

Don't Mess With a Child of God!

We’re still reading Psalm 18! When you look back over your life, how has God answered some of your most urgent prayers? Read David’s account in verses 4 – 19.

Saved From the Hands of the Enemy!

Saved From the Hands of the Enemy! Have you made it through a terrible time in your life? Today and tomorrow we’re reading the 18th Psalm. Let’s start with verses 1-3, what would be YOUR song of praise? # summerpsalms

No Matter What!

David loved God! Have you ever been hurt by something and through your hurt still managed to maintain a relationship with your loved one and cater to their heart. David's problems teach us that NO MATTER WHAT , go back TO GOD! Give God glory even in the BAD situation, even in the WORST situation, even in the face of your enemies - GIVE GOD THE GLORY!   A few weeks ago we read the 3rd Psalm (Sat, 7/8). It was David's cry to God while he was on the run from his son Absalom. What I find amazing about David is that in this time of distress he took care of God's business to the point where he wrote the 4th and 5th Psalms and picked the instruments that they were to be played to.The 4th Psalm for a stringed instrument starts as a prayer and then words to his enemies to compel them to serve God and show them the error of their ways and he finishes with a praise. The 5th Psalm (for a flute) reads in the same manner.   Read the 4th and 5th Psalm. Share it with someon...

My Prayer...

Yes, you pray. Yes, you read your bible. Yet, there are things that you are dealing with. Problems from your past, people against you, bills are enormous, etc., etc. David is now a mature king when he writes this Psalm. The king having a family, riches, a nation at his command, felt the need to pray this prayer. In distress, David knew that only God can help. Is this 25th Psalm your prayer??? Unto thee, O Lord , do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Shew me thy ways, O Lord ; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord , thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O ...

Trust God!

O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: Psalms 7:1 KJV http://bible.com/1/psa.7.1.KJV This is the 1st verse to the 7th Psalm. David is approaching God because He has been falsely accused. Has anyone ever lied on you? Have you ever been in trouble because of someone's lies? David still put his trust in Godand that is what Psalm 7 teaches us. Trust GOD!

Save Me!

Image
Good Morning! Today we're reading the 6th Psalm. Have you ever been in a mess? This psalm encourages is to go to God, even at our lowest point. Talk to Him until you can follow David's lead and encourage yourself. By the end of the Psalm, just like after a good prayer, feel better knowing that God has heard your prayer! Look for yourself... O Lord , don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage. Have compassion on me, Lord , for I am weak. Heal me, Lord , for my bones are in agony. I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord , until you restore me? Return, O Lord , and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love. For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave? I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. Go away, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will a...

Psalm 1

Image
The beauty of the 1st Psalm is that it is the introduction to the book and sums up the entire book of Psalms. The Word of God presents us with the truth, we have a choice to live for God or live for the world. The consequences are worlds apart..follow God and live a good life (even with evil all around you), follow the world and its master, the devil, and live a miserable life (plus the evil that comes with it). I'd prefer to live for God and have the strength to endure whatever comes my way! Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the ...
