Daily Prompt: Forlorn

The Bible says, Psalm 63:7-9  (KJV) 7  Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8  My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. 9  But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. We all experience forlorn moments in our lives.  In this scripture we are reminded that God is our help, he doesn't leave us. We don't have to feel hopeless, sad, depressed, rejected or live in despair. Living day by day with forlorn thoughts and actions can truly be a thing of the past.  We no longer have to be subject to our circumstances and situations.  Love the good in your life and place God at the forefront of everything by following Him.  Trust and watch Him to take care of you! via Daily Prompt: Forlorn

He's Loyal!

Have you experienced a time when everyone left you and you felt that you needed them the most at that time? Have you ever been friendless? Have you ever known someone who was always around until the moment that you needed them and then POOF! they’re gone? Sometimes one of the hardest things in the world to find is someone who is LOYAL.  By today’s standards it is much more attractive to be selfish.  The only problem with being selfish is that we all encounter times in our lives when we need other people.  Being selfish doesn’t help when the person who’s been selfish in now in need of other people. Do you know that God is LOYAL?  Yes, He really, really is.  He promised to never leave us.  He’s always there to help us.  He’s always by our side.  All that we have to do is call Him. Have people let you down? Do you find yourself disappointed?  Have situations left you feeling hurt, alone, frustrated, depleted, etc? It's not a cliche to hear someone say, "trust God".  I used to get upset when I heard this phrase.  I needed to feel better about my situation before I could trust anybody.  I had learned to trust myself and sometimes that was hard. I learned from witnessing ugly things time and time again that not to trust anyone for anything, at all. So no, I couldn't stand being told to "trust God". Hearing it all of my life and hearing how it helped others didn't help me either.  I was just determined (unknowingly) to distrust God.  Little did I know how it would change my life for the BETTER . You may be in a place in your life where you would ask, " HOW? " Talk to God .  The "how" was hard for me.  I had to first learn to tell God all that I was going through.  Yes, He "knows" everything, but the...

He Will Save You!

Do you ever feel like no one can help you? Do you ever feel like you’re drowning in sorrow, pain and troubles? Do you ever feel like no one is on your side? I have felt all of this and so much more.  I’ve felt loneliness to the extent that I carried it around and it felt like a raw and open sore in my stomach.  I longed to be loved, held and taken care of.  While I no longer feel lonely.  I still have the desire to be taken care of.  Sometimes it hurts to care for others , even if you are not looking for a return on your investment, it would feel nice if someone loved on you once in a while. That’s why I thank God for this scripture. When people feel the need to push their ideas on me –  the LORD is my judge. When others want me to do things their way –  the LORD is my lawgiver. Dear God, Today I am in a good place, for the most part.  I woke up on time, made it to work on time.  I spent time reading Your Word.  I posted on my blog and my Facebook group.  I prayed a little but You know I have a lot more praying to do.  Yesterday, I saw my Grandparents, thank You so much for that.  I spent quality time with my husband, thank You so much for that!  I was able to spend some time with each of my adult children and my nephew to speak into their lives and love on them, I truly thank You for that. However, there are somethings that sit in the back of my mind.  I am so grateful that I can be completely honest with you and share these things.   I am concerned about my parents and grandparents.  Their overall health sits in my mind.  I've asked You to heal them and I'll ask it again.  Please heal them in their body, mind and soul. I am concerned about the unity of my family.  I confess that I had giv...

Good Morning! Today we're reading the 6th Psalm. Have you ever been in a mess? This psalm encourages is to go to God, even at our lowest point. Talk to Him until you can follow David's lead and encourage yourself. By the end of the Psalm, just like after a good prayer, feel better knowing that God has heard your prayer! Look for yourself... Goodness!

Rise and grind! God is a great God! He keeps us through the hardest of times and blesses us abundantly on time! In 19 minutes today read Psalm 31. Can you relate to things going really wrong in life? When everything was said and done do you recall how God still blessed?  This chapter putts God in front of our issues.  God Is our Rock, He keeps us,  He brings us out. The Psalmist praises God with this wonderful scripture... Psalms 31:19 (KJV)  Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Start Over And Do It God's Way!

 Start Over and Do It God's Way... It's a Great Day to spend 12 Minutes Alone with God! Read this scripture and pray a prayer of thanks and praise to God for forgiving us, washing us and being the God of another chance. Choose today to begin again. After you've asked for forgiveness, let that thing go and get away from it, in your mind and your body. Know that God has forgiven you and start over. Remind yourself that you are forgiven. If the sin pops up in your mind (which it often does), remind yourself that you're forgiven and that you have started over. Think about God forgiving you, read this scripture, pray and move on. Psalms 103:8-12 (KJV)  The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him....

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread...

From:   Grow-A-Minute-A-Day Good Morning, I woke up in prayer and study of the Word of God with my wonderful husband, Justin Smith . I encourage you to pray and read the Bible with your family, if you can. If you can't, then do it alone until they join you. The scripture that I want to encourage you with today is: Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread. Jesus instructs us to pray to God for provision. Do we ask God to feed us, provide for us, clothe us, fulfill our needs? It's more than food. More often than not, we need God's Word, God's guidance and leading, which is bread enough. The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:7-12, to ask and we shall receive. Are you sick? Are you struggling financially? Do you need more of God in your life? Do you need food in your house? Ask God for what you need? Better, ask God to provide for you what you need according to His Will? He's the parent that knows what's best ...

Why Is it So Bad?

God bless you today... I've often wondered about the things that have gone on in my life.  There are many reasons for the things that we suffer and no one is exempt from suffering.  As a Christian I wonder more about why I haven't successfully dealt with my circumstances. To narrow it down, for the most part it, it is our FOCUS.  We ask, "why is it so bad?", when we should ask, "What are we focusing on when things are at their worst?"  Our human nature is conditioned to looking at our circumstances instead of looking at God.  When we take our eyes off of God, we become like Peter when he walked on water, we become fearful and begin to drown. (Matthew 14:24-34).  Yes, we drown figuratively, the problem begins to rise over our heads and it completely consumes us.  How do we stop the drowning?  How do we come up for air?  How do we stop feeling the pulling sensation that causes us to feel death all around us?  Better, how do we mak...

Does the cold weather have you in a slump? Are January bills starting to pile up? Have the holidays left you feeling exhausted?   Here's the answer: Matthew 11:28 KJV - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. NLT - Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Jeremiah 6:16 KJV -    Thus saith the Lord , Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. NLT - This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around.     Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.  Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. Are You Being Judged?

It hurts when people judge us.  Passing judgment in and of itself is not bad, it is how the judging is done.  There are times in our lives-lots of times, in my life, when judgment is helpful.  If the judgment is fair, right and true, if the judgment is helpful to your life and will only result in you doing better in life-this is judgment that you and I need.  Judgment that is detrimental, condescending and discouraging should be unwanted and is, without a doubt, unnecessary. Judging should be according to Philippians 4:8: Philippians 4:8 KJV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. It's Monday!

It's the 1st Monday of October.  It's time for you to start again.  Whatever it is that you need to begin again in your life, now is the time.  It's the 2nd day of a brand new week.  It's another chance to do it again.  Pray for direction.  Pray for guidance.  Pray for strength to do what YOU need to do.  Pray for your family and friends, pray for co-workers and classmates.  Pray that the impending storms dissipate and cause no harm.  Expect the blessings that this new day will bring to you. How's Your Hearing?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. God expects us to operate out of what we hear spiritually.  God tells us that we are above and not beneath, the head and not the tail. (Deut. 28:44)  The Word of God says that we are wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that everything (including you and me) is made beautiful in its time (Eccl. 3:11). So what is it that you are hearing?

What Are You Thinking About?

It's Monday, August 1, 2016.  What are you thinking about?  What's on your mind?  How are you feeling? The Word of God assures us that we can have peace when we keep our minds focused on God.  Think about how good He's been to you.  Think about a time that you prayed and He answered you.  Consider where you would be without the Lord, isn't it good to know that you have a God, Savior, Father and Friend Who loves you and care about you?  Just think about Him for a few minutes.  Say a prayer, sing a song, write to Him.  Wait for the peace that He will give to you. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.

Tip of the Day!

Journal Each Moment! Sometimes the things that depress us are minor, other times they are major.  I have experienced times when I didn't even recognize that I had fallen into a depression.  Have you ever experienced this?  Have you looked back and said, "wow, I was depressed and didn't know it?".  I find it helpful to keep a journal and I'll admit that it's something that I need to go back to doing.  It doesn't have to be a journal of doom and gloom either!  You can write all of the wonderful things that happen in your life, your small victories, your happy times, etc.  Write how good God has been to you?  Write about the things that make you happy.  Write your plan to make your life better and how you plan to do so.
