Misunderstood

Image
Have you ever been misunderstood? Have you ever felt that you were explaining yourself until you were blue in the face? Does it feel like no one understands? Jesus was misunderstood by those closest to Him.  After all of the time spent together and the many times that He explained His mission, people were still unable to grasp what He was saying. Luke 18:31-34 (MSG) Then Jesus took the Twelve off to the side and said, “Listen carefully. We’re on our way up to Jerusalem. Everything written in the Prophets about the Son of Man will take place. He will be handed over to the Romans, jeered at, made sport of, and spit on. Then, after giving him the third degree, they will kill him. In three days he will rise, alive.” But they didn’t get it, could make neither heads nor tails of what he was talking about. They didn’t get it, they couldn’t grasp what He was saying.  It might not be comforting to know that you are in good company, maybe it will help to reali...

Live Above Your Situation!

Image
I believe what the Word of God says about me.  Sometimes I don’t live like I believe it because I forget and I allow situations and circumstances distort my view. Here’s what the Bible says about you… Deuteronomy 28:1(KJV) – And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: God wants to best position us for life.  The best position is above the issues that we deal with in life.  He desires that we are successful.  The prerequisite is that we listen and do what He commands. Deuteronomy 28:13 (KJV) – And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: In conjunction ...

My Letter to God...Racing Thoughts

Image
Hello Again Father, For the past few weeks I've experienced roller coaster emotions.  I've experienced enormous highs and not terrible lows but a lot of lows.  I've been super-excited about my newfound freedom and then I struggle with feelings of "now what?".  So I will lay my cards on the table. Thank You God for releasing me from the job that I held so closely to.  Thank You for releasing me from miserable mornings, days of being the blame for everything that went wrong in the office, the cleaner upper, the fixer, etc.  I thank You and praise You for the release. The freedom that I now feel is spectacular and its further evidence in my life that you are a God Who truly answers prayer and that You care about me. I'm grateful that I am now home and I'm finally able, for the 1st time in almost 25 years, to make my house a home.  Lord, please give me direction in this area, because You know I need Your help to turn this house into a home where You c...

What Are You Thinking?

Image
What are you thinking about? What stays on your mind? Are you worried? Are you frustrated, stressed, tired, worn out, etc.? Cast thy burden upon the Lord , and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22 KJV Are you tired of being tired? Today I encourage you to change your thinking. Have faith and believe that God will take care of you. Give your burdens to the Lord , and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalms 55:22 NLT Can you let go of what you have been thinking? Do you want to be happy? Do you wasn't to just let it go and live? I encourage you to be free! God wants to take care of you. Cast your burden on the Lord [ release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail). PSALM 55:22 AMP God loves you and He wants you to be happy! Trust Him with all that you're thinking. Contact me on my Contact Page ! L...

I Still Say, "Thank You"!

Image
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18(KJV) How can we say, "Thank You God", about everything?  In my head, I hear voices saying, But I feel so sad. Nothing is working out for me. I hate my life. I don't like how I'm treated. I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go. I'm lost. I have nothing. Everything's gone. Everyone's gone. So how can I say, "Thank You God"? And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (KJV) Allow your faith to let this sink in.  Every.single.thing in your life is working for your good.  The roadblocks that you've experienced were and are lessons to help you get to where you are going. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy s...

Depression No More! God Wants Me Happy!

Yes, You Can Bear It!

Image
1 Corinthians 10:13 Yes, You Can Bear It!   To read the entire context of this scripture, go back and read  verses 1-18 .  The scripture begins talking about people who became “caught up”, so to speak, in their situations. Our Attitudes and Opinions No matter what happens in our lives and we form an opinion and attitude towards the circumstance.  It can be minor or major.  We either like it or dislike it.  Either way, it is our attitudes and our actions that produce the outcome of every situation that we encounter. DON’T STOP READING! I know that that last sentence may have caught you off guard, it’s okay.  Keep reading, I’ll make it clearer as we go on.  You see, just like in the first 11 verses of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 10, the actions of the Israelites placed them in a worse position than they started in.  There are times when we say and do things that place us in in terrible positions and when we look back ...

Depression in the Bible...Simon Peter

Image
"Follow Me" A simple phrase was what compelled Peter to become a disciple.  The story of Simon Peter is one of the greatest illustrations of a changed life.  He was one of the boldest disciples with a life worth examining. Early Life Simon was born about 1 B.C. and died around A.D. 67. He was a Galilean fisherman from a village called Bethsaida.  Peter was married.  He is reportedly the first disciple called by Jesus along with his brother Andrew. Occupation Simon Peter was a fisherman when he met Jesus.  Fishermen at that time were everything that we can imagine, rough and shabby.  We wouldn't imagine someone well-polished and refined in speech.  I can hear the conversations and believe that they weren't for the faint of heart.  Fishing is a physical occupation and required a lot of strength in Simon Peter's day. Discipleship Jesus said "follow me" and Simon Peter literally put down all of his fishing sup...

When Will I Move This Mountain?

Image
"When will I move this mountain?" Matt. 17:19-21 We move mountains when we believe. Some of us are wondering, "when?" I know I do. In this scripture, Jesus used the example of the mustard seed because it takes a small amount of faith to accomplish lots. It not how much strength, it's how much do you BELIEVE. Fasting and Prayer... When we fast and pray it is then that we take our eyes off of the problem and place the problem into God's hands. With the problem out of our hands and off of our shoulders we are free and strengthened to move the mountain.  You must believe God to move your mountain. Matthew 17:19-20 (NLT) 19 Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?” 20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible....

Tricks Are For Kids!

Image
"When I was a child"... hopefully you acted, thought and played like a child. We're adults now and its time that we act accordingly. The scripture instructs us to be strong. When we feel weak, be strong. When life beats us down, be strong. Be strong in the Lord. S M XL L We are told to put on the whole armor of God. Armor is protective gear that is worn in battle. Armor is heavy. We must wear God's armor to stand up against evil, problems, horrible situations, circumstances and the wiles of the devil. In the middle of the battle we sometimes fight the wrong fight and find ourselves exhausted and beat up. I couldn't imagine putting on armor and going to the wrong battle. I've never been a soldier but I've seen what's worn to battle and I wouldn't want to carry anything any further than I needed to, especially going to a battle. Again, we're not children anymore. Paul teaches that we don't fight against flesh and blood (pe...

Faith & Patience

Image
We look everywhere for a quick schemes.  Get-rich quick, lose weight quick, learn quick, etc.  We are living in a "microwave" age where we want everything Quick.Fast. and in a Hurry. We live in a "microwave" age. In the book of James, the 1st chapter, it's a lot different.  Here we are told that we are going to experience troubles.  We are told to have joy while we experience these problems because it is a testing of our faith.  Trust is believing and knowing without a shadow of doubt that God will come through.  Faith requires patience.  Patience means wait a while.  The while doesn't have a timer, it can be fast or slow, but waiting definitely comes with the territory.  It's important while we faithfully wait to believe and stay focused on the goal. S M L XL   We absolutely can not be double minded. We must have faith and be patient when we ask anything of God. For example, to ask God for a house, you have to ...

The Veil is Removed!

Image
Grace and Peace!    I thank God for removing the veil from my life!  We don’t have to worry about God’s glory fading away from us, we have the ability to communicate with God our Father and the Holy Spirit helps us to understand Him. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or how bad it has gotten, you can now live free.  You can give God all of your problems and ask Him to show you the way out of them.  It’s then up to you to get some sleep or some rest while you wait on His answer.  Once you receive the answer you can then run and get it done, but you don’t have to worry. God’s Glory won’t fade like it did in Moses’ day.  If you stay connected, He will stay right there and give you peace in the middle of that problem.  He will bless you if you believe Him for the blessing! He wants to to bless you and that is why He removed the veil! Trust Him for your happiness today! 2 Corinthians 3:7-18: 7 The old way,[a...

Daily Prompt: Forlorn

Image
The Bible says, Psalm 63:7-9  (KJV) 7  Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8  My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. 9  But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. We all experience forlorn moments in our lives.  In this scripture we are reminded that God is our help, he doesn't leave us. We don't have to feel hopeless, sad, depressed, rejected or live in despair. Living day by day with forlorn thoughts and actions can truly be a thing of the past.  We no longer have to be subject to our circumstances and situations.  Love the good in your life and place God at the forefront of everything by following Him.  Trust and watch Him to take care of you! via Daily Prompt: Forlorn

Move When You Hear Him!

Image
In Luke 7:3 and 4 we read how the Centurion heard about Jesus and immediately believed in HIM and sent for Him. How amazing would it be if we moved the moment we heard Jesus?  Where would we be in life if we moved when He spoke? Would we still call that person our friend, even though the relationship has been over for so long?  Would we still be at that job where there isn't a chance of growing?  Would we still live in that town where we feel stagnant and no longer at home? We should move quickly when we hear about God. We should believe HIM and look for Him! That's our lesson here, get moving and look for God in your situation.  God has already spoken to you.  Stop sitting still and go out to Him.    S M XL L   Your faith is what will carry you. God looks at our faith in HIM. Do you believe that God will save you, heal you, bring you out of that situation? It's a new year. It's time to move quickly when we hear...

I CHOOSE to be HAPPY!

I'm going to enjoy this day! - Yes, a few things haven't gone my way. - Ok, a few things happened that upset me. - Some things were said that disappointed me. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. Ecclesiastes 3:12 NLT
